Event Details

The PDF/A Competence Centre (PCC) is marking the launch of its UK Chapter by hosting an introduction to the PDF/A (ISO 19005) standard for long-term archiving of electronic documents.

 

This half-day seminar offers attendees an opportunity to learn more about the ISO 19005 Standard from PDF/A experts, and see examples of how it is being implemented in both Europe and the USA.

 

The seminar will look in detail at:

  • What is the PDF/A standard and how is it used?
  • What are the benefits of PDF/A?
  • Which documents can be archived into PDF/A?
  • What do PDF/A, PDF / A - 1a, PDF/A - 1b, PDF 2 mean?

The seminar speakers will address the following topics:

 

Introduction to PDF/A

Gary Hodkinson, MD of LuraTech Ltd.

The PDF/A Competence Center was established as an international association in 2006.

The objective of the association is to promote the exchange of information and experience in the field of long-term archiving in accordance with ISO 19005 (PDF/A).

The management board is comprised of executives from Appligent Document Solutions Inc., callas software GmbH, Compart AG, Crawford Technologies Inc., intarsys consulting GmbH, LuraTech Europe GmbH.

In less than three years, more than 100 companies and various experts from over 20 countries have joined the PDF/A Competence Center.

The executive chairman is Olaf Drümmer, CEO of callas software GmbH. Duff Johnson, CEO of Appligent Document Solutions Inc. is the executive vice chairman.

The UK Chapter aims to educate and promote PDF/A throughout the United Kingdom.
